AGAPE is a non-profit organisation, which originated from the desire to help children in difficulty, most of whom begged in the streets of Douala.

Our Mandate

The AGAPE association was officially recognized on July 18, 2017 by the State of Cameroon as a PSO (Private Social Work) in accordance with ARRETE N ° 2017 / AS / 0022 / A / MINAS / CAB /IG / I2 of July 18, 2017 carrying definitive authorization for the opening and operation of the Private Social Work named "CENTRE AGAPE". Proof that AGAPE meets the requirements of the ministry in charge of government policy on safeguarding the interests of the child.

Mission

Save children from the dangers of the streets and enable every child in need to develop her full potential by providing her with a safe environment and the tools to positively impact her life and community.

Objectives

AGAPE Association aims to work in a multidimensional way in the care of Vulnerable Children in order to facilitate the optimisation of their social, educational, professional status and their integration into society.

The specifics objectives are:

  • To improve the living conditions of vulnerable children
  • To removed from the street where they were begging or working
  • To offer them a safe environment conducive to their education
  • To improve their social skills
  • To instil in them a strong sense of community life
  • To help them respect of basic rules of hygiene

What we provide

A SAFE DAY AND NIGHT SPACE

We provide them with a house to live, rest, study, relax, play and socialize. we offer them a snack upon return from school and a hot meal for day student; intern have 3 meals a days.

A SAFE DAY AND NIGHT SPACE

Financial support for tuition and supply. homework support. Extra circular activities offered by voluntary (football, music, theater, swimming).

PHYSICAL AND PSYCOLOGICAL HEALTH NEEDS

We organize sporadic visits in order to keep them healthy.

We provide psycological support to children through listening and counselling.

AGAPE ACHIEVEMENTS CONCRETELY:

  1. Provision of a safe space to relax, play and socialize.
  2. Establishment of a dormitory for the most needy among these young people,
  3. Financial support for tuition fees
  4. Health care

AGAPE PRACTICALY:

We provide them with a breakfast, a snack and a hot meal per day

We provide them with academic support through homework help

We help them develop the potential buried in them

We provide them with psychological support through advice and coaching

We introduce them to various arts (theatre, painting, music) and educational and recreational outings according to possibilities and thanks to volunteers
